BJP Member of Parliament Nishikant Dubey addressed the issue of the NEET-UG paper leak on Thursday, urging students not to use the incident as an excuse for their own poor performance. Dubey remarked that some students might attempt to persuade their parents that they would have excelled if the examination had not been compromised. Speaking during the Parliament’s Monsoon Session, he emphasized the importance of aspiring doctors, engineers, and civil servants achieving success through dedication to education and merit.
Dubey also pointed out the government’s actions in response to the paper leak, highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s directive for stringent penalties against those involved. Modi has advocated for the 13 individuals apprehended in connection with the leak to be swiftly tried in fast-track courts, stressing that those who jeopardize the future of students will face severe consequences.
The government has expressed its willingness to engage in dialogue with groups protesting the leak. Union ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh have extended invitations to protesters, offering to meet them at their official offices or residences, to address their concerns.
In the meantime, protesters persist in their demands for accountability regarding the NEET paper leak. They are calling for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and have announced plans to hold peaceful demonstrations across the nation to press for their demands.
