In a significant development, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust has accepted the resignations of its General Secretary, Champat Rai, and trustee Anil Mishra. This decision comes amidst an ongoing investigation into allegations of embezzlement related to donations meant for the construction of the Ram Mandir. Trust treasurer Govind Giri confirmed that the resignations were in line with the trust’s constitutional guidelines. He also took a moment to commend Rai for his substantial contributions to the trust from its early days.
The resignations follow accusations of financial irregularities during the counting of temple donations. A senior member of the trust, Pankaj Jaiswal, described the situation as both painful and shameful, emphasizing that any misappropriation of funds meant for a sacred cause is unacceptable.
