Prime Minister Narendra Modi commemorated 25 years of continuous public service with an address at the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha’ in New Delhi, emphasizing his vision for a developed India by 2047. Reflecting on his political journey that began as Chief Minister of Gujarat on October 7, 2001, Modi expressed gratitude for the trust and support of citizens and party workers, which he credited as key to his accomplishments.
Modi acknowledged the role of both supporters and critics in shaping his public life, noting that critics provided important lessons that helped him grow. “Those who brought me down taught me how to rise again,” he stated, highlighting the personal growth gained from facing challenges.
Reiterating his call for a developed India, Modi outlined aspirations for the nation to become one of the world’s top three economies by 2047, stressing self-reliance and collective citizen efforts as crucial to achieving these goals. He underscored the importance of unity and dedicated service to the country, saying, “For me, people are God.”
In his address, Modi also touched on India’s advancements in aviation, mentioning the bravery of Indian pilot Smit Machchhar during a flydubai flight incident and expressing confidence in India eventually manufacturing aircraft domestically.
