In a significant initiative to combat drug abuse, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan’. This campaign aims to inspire young people across the nation to spearhead efforts against drug addiction, marking the start of a 100-week drive focused on public engagement. The campaign will feature various activities, including sports events, walkathons, meditation sessions, cultural programs, and community outreach, taking place every Sunday.

Addressing the participants through a virtual platform, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the threat posed by drug trafficking, which he asserted is being used by hostile entities to undermine India’s interests and target its younger population. He underscored the importance of shielding the youth from the perils of addiction as a fundamental step towards building a developed India, or Viksit Bharat. Modi commended the active involvement of over one crore youths from diverse backgrounds who are taking part in this campaign.

The Prime Minister also pointed out the encouraging commitment shown by lakhs of young individuals who have vowed to abstain from drugs. They have also pledged to play an active role in spreading awareness about the dangers of drug use within their communities, thereby contributing to a broader societal change.

This comprehensive campaign comes as a response to the growing concern over drug abuse and its impact on the nation’s youth. By engaging young people directly in the fight against drugs, the initiative hopes to foster a healthier, more informed generation equipped to drive India’s progress.
