Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently shared a selfie-style video to celebrate the passage of the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026. He hailed the legislation as a pivotal move to bolster the integrity of the examination system across the nation. In his address, Modi pledged to take strict measures against what he termed the “paper mafia,” aiming to crack down on those who compromise the security of exam papers.
However, this announcement drew criticism from Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). Taking to social media, Dipke openly mocked the Prime Minister’s appearance in the video and expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of merely implementing tougher laws. He questioned whether these measures could genuinely address the persistent issue of exam paper leaks, which have plagued the examination process.
The CJP has taken a firm stance on this matter, arguing that the new legislation places undue emphasis on punishing those involved in malpractices rather than proactively preventing leaks. According to the party, the focus should shift towards implementing structural reforms and enhancing transparency within the examination framework. They have also called for significant changes to the operations of the National Testing Agency (NTA) to better safeguard the examination process.
